So Much Fun It Was Amazing!

River Valley Animal Protection League’s Amazingly Fun Race 2018 was a success! It was a beautiful day, we had a great volunteer turn out, and wonderful contributions from sponsors and supporters. We’d like to congratulate our winners and thank our participants.

Jeff's PartyTeam Caterbury Tails took home the first place trophy this year. Congratulations, Suzanna Lee and Mary Lizie. Jeff would like to extend a special thank you for your help cleaning up his party mess.

Mike Grace and Dave Larsen, of the Kool Kats team, came in a close second, failing Mike’s objective of beating his sister-in-law’s team. Nice try, fellas.

Third place went to the Purtles of Misty Mountain, Gary and Maureen. They were a great, high energy team. We were super pleased to spot them in Bellows Falls the next day, presumably enjoying some of their hard won spoils.

Ninja Kid

The Cats Count Two team, of whom there were three, were our top fund raising team! They were also the only team with a member who was able to “find” the ninja tracks on his first try. Adults can be a little slow sometimes…

Months of planning paid off in terms of creative challenges, like the Flamingo Hat Hop and Steer Roping with Lil’ Marv.Lil' Marv

The unanimous favorite, however, was Matt Morrill’s “Don’t Hit The Pets” RC car challenge. Racers were tasked with navigating a course of obstacles to be completed without running over any of the stuffed animal population. It’s a good thing the rest of the race was on foot!

Thank you to everyone who served on the Amazing Rave event committee, those who volunteered for the day, participated, or came by to say hello. Please contact us if you’d like to get involved in planning another Amazing Race style event with us.
